Bleh I think I deleted almost all my old old screenys cause they was in .bmp and took up alot of space and didn't feel like converting them all to .jpg =\ I did manage to find some tho.

This was when anet did a reset on prices at the merchants and stuff and ended up rolling back the servers several hours I believe to fix this. lol before this update I didn't have any of those superior vigors / absorptions / shards and this was when they were really expensive...

Dang, I wish I was in Guild Wars during the beta days, looks a lot more epic than now. Should of kept that character screen. The earliest I had was when I got Factions and took a random screen of my assassin, the screen isn't on this computer though.

Oh man I remember that. Came back from farming and everyone was going nuts. Oh well there went 3 hours worth of work for everyone but there was no other way.

I remember when there were so many of us and it was fun! I remember before loot scaling. Ettin farming etc.

I still enjoy GW but all things change sadly. The days of awesome loot, Marhan's, monk strikes

are done. But everything has a time an season. Great memories are worth having

I also used to believe be all you can be LOL

I think once upon a time there were monks with swords. This was just for fun

If you want some oldschool screenshot, you just have to modify the display options at the bottom of the forum page, and select "from the beginning" and press "show threads". Then just browse backwards since you find the very first threads (there are 212 pages so you've got to see a lot

).

The front cape was beta only.. Meh ive lost all my old screens also. Oldest ones are from 40months orso back only :/ Older ones gone with old PC. meh i love the old hero panel. and remembering getting those Ranks orso from ascalon etc arenas also

remember doing those arenas

and when got like blue chaos axe and went there ppl quit when saw it cus they tho i was so gozu O.o

I went back on my old character before my break and had to double-take. Still on the head piece was a Rune of Major Fire Magic, HP -50. I still have it in storage and even had a current (-35) so now they sit side by side in Xunlai.

There's a fan blog posted June 2, 2006 listing all the other changes in the update. Looking at them at that time it's shocking how much they were fixing. Before that you couldn't see party messages from your whole team in AB and apparently could shadow step beyond radar range. People complain about little stuff now

AB in the Factions Beta was so much more fun than it is now. Parties were all shown in one, 12-man window, you could enter by yourself and would be assigned into a team and best of all, it was possible to kill the Base Defender and make a mad rush into the enemies spawn only to find yourself stuck there.

I think some of the most fun I had with Guild Wars was in the pre-release Alliance Battles.

Anyone remember the old animation they had for the daze effect? Was cleaning up the pc and found this screenshot from the griffon farming days though I wasn't farming when I took this. Sometimes I wish they didn't change that animation...

yeah wish they would find a way to bring back the old character select screens...liked the factions one a lot (and anything would be better than looking at the same thing we have been seeing for the last what 3 years+ now)
